A micro-sensor, placed inside the bowl, absorbs during several hours the air around it. The sample obtained is then studied by a technique which we call chromatography in gaseous phase to separate the various molecules of the others, as well as by mass spectrography to know the proportion (molecular weight) of each in the total sample. Then, the human being intervenes and identifies, thanks to databases and to his nose, the multiple components of the smells. « Just a flower can make 400 different olfactory molecules. Imagine what a human skin may produce, especially when taking into account the activities in which they engaged prior to analysis ...
